Husky air compressor model no. H1503TP

1 week 2 days ago #2650 by kalamarockfarmer

I replaced the compressor unit/ pump [ol195b,h1503tp]. I started it and it went up to 120 p.s.i.and didn't shut off or continue to fill. The parts list shows a new pressure switch starts at 125 psi and off at 150 psi.. So is the new compressor pump faulty or the pressure switch. Thanks for any help.

There are other parts that can be causing the issue. The transfer tube could be leaking, or the fittings around it. Check the drain valve for leaks. Take a spray bottle with soapy water and spray around the fittings to see if they bubble indicating air leaking. Your pump should pump up until the pressure switch tells it to stop. Also, do you know if your gauges are correct?

I forgot to mention the over pressure valve popped off and the pump continued pumping.

This is indicative of a defective pressure switch.
