mr.brailey: my son-in-law is still away from home on business so I have no updates on his compressor, however, I was wondering how your compressor repair was working out? Were you able to find out what caused the damage to the pressure switch wiring in photo #8? I had not originally thought to order the wire jumper assembly, but after seeing your photo I ordered one for him, too, just in case!
Again, thank you for your great response with all those photos.

mr.brailey - my son-in-law was able to make it home for a day before going out, again, and when he got the case off he found these burned wire, quite similar to your find! Definitely seems to be a manufacturing and/or quality control problem.

I'm glad you ordered the wiring assembly. I'm still trying to figure out why mine got fried. Once I figure it out I'll upload a photo of my solution.

mr.brailey: My son-in-law didn't mention what, if anything, he saw that might have caused the wire chafing through. Vibration during operation no doubt is a big factor, so he may have to figure out a way to keep the wires separated or, at the minimum, wrap several layers of tape around the wires. We may visit the family at Thanksgiving and then I'd have a better idea of what's going on.

Here's wishing you success on your troubleshooting!
