For some reason, it did not come through.
You could also have a bad valve or valve plate gasket that would cause this to happen.
Is it still pumping up as fast as it has in the past?

The RolAir/Chinook pumps that we get do not come standard with a safety valve in the intercooler. It is an open port when they come to us. On portable units, we usually install a drain there to open for easier cold starting. On stationaries, they are just plugged off.

I have seen them on other brands of pumps. I do know that they can indicate a problem with the upper gaskets or reed valves. What the setting is on this one, I do not have a clue. Also, whether that safety valve has a weak spring, I cannot answer that either. I wish that I had a better answer for you.

I plugged Valve hole in Intercooler with no adverse effects on Compressor. I have air leaking/hissing from electric shut off valve area. Compressor shuts off @ 160 psi

If the unloader valve on the pressure switch leaks after the unit cuts off, you have a bad tank check valve.
