8.7GA12 pump spewing oil from pump was created by herschelm
My 8.7GA12 pump is spewing oil from the vent hole near the engine-end of the pump. I only noticed because I came back to the pump to move it and found a puddle of light Gray oil. The pump was still working but I immediately shut it down. How much of this pump do you think I need to repair? It seems like the seal on the crankshaft of the pump is bad but what about the high pressure seals?
Thanks.
Thanks.

How much use has this pump had would you estimate?

Not for sure but probably around 50 hours over 3 years.

I would make sure that the oil is from the pump and not from the engine crankshaft. If you are sure, then it could possibly be too much pressure build up in the pump. Does this happen when the pump is in use or just when you let your hand off of the gun handle?
This can also happen by worn out crankcase piston rods and seals as well as worn out plunger retainer o-rings. If this occurs, simply replace the rods and seals and o-rings with new ones.

This is my third attempt to reply. Who do I talk to about getting the forum to NOT BLOW AWAY my work?

Oil in the engine is fine.
