pressure washer stalls when engine is started

7 years 4 months ago #1092 by bob1190
there's a one way valve in the output line. if I remove it and put it back, then turn the water on before starting the engine, I have low pressure. No hose or wand connected. I start the engine and the engine stalls. no water comes out unless I remove the valve .

Originally I found a bad 'o'ring in the unloader. This is a rmv 2.5g30 pump

???

Thanks for your input,

Bob

One way valve was stuck/or jammed. I replaced it and adjusted pressure. Working ok now

Thanks for the post, and glad you found the fix!

I was going to suggest the same, good to see you found it first. Feel free to post here if you have any additional questions or comments.

Does anyone have a schematic of a typical pressure waster pump and valve system ?

Thanks ,

Bob, I've attached the breakdown for this pump (at least it's very similar).
Hope this helps.
