Dewalt DW514 hammer drill. Repair or replace was created by billkater
My hammer drill got to where I would have to spin it to get it to take off. Made me think it was the brushes. I took it apart and found a bad spot in the armature. See picture.

Repair or replace?

Thanks for the post!

Unfortunately, that Armature is past the point of no return as that gap is much too large to be repairable.

This is an older model and I know that DeWalt has discontinued the Armature, so it can't be replaced either. Bad news on this one I'm afraid.

Do you happen to have the old one still around?

Mine just broke, the hammer bearing area, i am wondering if you still have it arround and if you are willing to selling it.
