I have a Dewalt DW364 circular saw. All of a sudden, it just stopped working. The cord and switch seem fine. Do you have any suggestions as to why it just suddenly stopped working?

Thank you for the inquiry!
As long as you know the cord and switch are working correctly and your breaker is not blown, you most likely have a problem with the brushes or the field wires in the motor.
Make sure you have enough carbon brush so that the spring puts tension on the armature, both brushes must be making contact with the copper commutator on the armature.
Most likely, however, the problem lies in the field windings, which is common. I would take the casing apart and look at the copper windings where they connect to the terminal connections (#81 in the diagram attached). Most likely these windings are burnt or cut so you won't get continuity in the motor. You can simply solder this connection back with a solder gun.
Hope this helps!

Yes, this did help. The brush assembly where it connects into the field had a broken wire.
I replaced the brush holder and it works like a charm.
Thanks again.
