I have just come across a Makita core drill with a problem, it will turn at a reduced speed and starts to smell very quickly. I have done continuity and insulation tests to both the field and armature and both look good. In fact the armature looks brand new, I am in the UK and am now wondering if someone has tried to replace the armature with a 240v one ( the field is 110v)
my question is can I check the voltage of the armature?, any other suggestions welcome.
