In regards to the instructional youtube video:
for attaching AB-9429999-SBD Valve Plate Assembly.  The compressor I have is the 3 valve version and one of the valves broke so it would only build to about 20 psi.  Replaced connecting rod, piston ring, connecting rod cover, cylinder, valve plate assembly.  Installed assembly as shipped with all plates and gaskets unmoved.  Resulted in a compressor that isn't compressing.  Instead, the intake now blows and the discharge now sucks.  Why?
Attached pics are of the compressor and pump info and the orientation of the new valve plate assembly orientation.

Typically this happens due to the valve plate being upside down. Try reorienting the valve plate and see if this clears up the problem.

Got the discharge to discharge and the intake to intake.  Will see if it builds full pressure.  Squirrel cage busted as I installed it at top dead center.  Important note missing in video.  Didn't need to buy one unless the compressor operated correctly anyway.  Thanks and notify quality control about the plate orientation before shipping.

These come preassembled from the factory. We have spot checked in the past as well as complained to Bostitch as well to no avail.

Sorry for the delay in getting back.  My feedback was intended to assist in idiot-proofing the process, as obviously, it wasn't idiot proof :)  Broken fan not available anymore, so while the compressor does build compression after getting the valve plate in the proper orientation, the motor will now overheat due to a broken fan that is no longer available.  Happy TImes.
