My compressor died on me. the circuit breaker on the motor trips. when I press the breaker in the motor hums then trips the circuit breaker. What part do I need to replace? HELP I need my compressor! Thanks.
It's tough to be 100% sure being I can't see the unit, but may times this problem persists due to a bad motor Capacitor, but the Reset itself could be defective as well.
I've attached a document on how to test your Capacitors. If they're not defective then you may want to have an electrician diagnose the motor and all electrical components.
