I have a Husky air compressor that starts filling and then shuts off. I have to unplug it and wait about 5 min and then plug it back in and it will start filling again for about 5 min, then shut off again. I have to keep doing this over and over again. Can this be fixed or do I have to replace with a new one?

Thanks for the post!

What is the model# of the compressor? This will help.

Are you using the air while the unit is pumping up? If you're not, it sounds as though you may have an overheating issue. This can happen if the Piston Ring (in an oil-free unit) and/or Cylinder Sleeve is worn out; if worn, the unit won't pressurize quickly and run for longer periods of time than it should before shutting off. Your Reed Valves in the pump head could also be damaged, but the Piston Ring and Cylinder wear is more likely the issue. This is my best guess at the moment.
