Newbie mistake? was created by Danev6972
Hello all. I decided to stop by at a consignment shop & ended up taking home a used air comp for $133 tax included.upon closer inspection & some reasearch at home, the motor was not the original. The tank is pro air (devilbiss) prfb5520vp-wk (20 gal)& the motor is a campbell hausfeld wl504307aj 4.3@40 psi 3.1@90 psi 125psi max.the motor was from a 4gal tank.
What are some implications with this configuration?
Dont know if i paid too much for this.
Any input is highly appreciated.

Thanks for the post!
By the way, you can find a breakdown with parts list for this unit on our site by clicking the below link:
www.mastertoolrepair.com/air-compressor-...0vp-wk-p-288669.html
As long as the Piston Ring and Valves are in good shape in the pump, and the tank holds air, I'd say $133 is a decent price.
The wl504307aj uses a similar direct-drive, oil-free motor/pump assembly so I'd wager it puts out a very similar CFM spec as well. I'll see if I can get some additional information for the original pump/motor assy that was installed on the DeVilbiss unit.

Thanks MTR. All i know about compressors is that a cast iron motor is best. Any input/advice from the pros is much appreciated.
