Hi. I'm new to the website and this forum. My question is..."Is there a formula to use to determine the needed pulley size at the engine if you know the pulley size at the pump? Or is there a previous thread that addresses this that you could direct me to? Or, this is what I actually have going on right here. I have a two cylinder Ebay pump that has a rated max. RPM of 1200 with a 10.5" single groove pulley, delivering 10.8 cfm and a max air pressure of 140 psi. To drive the pump, I bought a 6.5hp gas engine from Harbor Freight that has a max. RPM of 3600 and an idle speed of 1800 RPM plus or minus 150 rpm. Thanks...

There is a formula to determine the correct size your motor Pulley should be, yes.
There are a few out there, but this calculator is simple and easy to use:
gadi.agric.za/software/renting/pulley_calc.php
Just leave the motor pulley ('A') blank and fill in the specs for the Flywheel Diameter, Motor RPM and Pump RPM and you'll get the recommended diameter of the pulley you should use.
