Husky H1506F type 1 replace piston ring was created by travis119
I have H1506F type 1 , hows the easiest way to change the piston ring, should I take the piston off, then assemble and put rod first through sleeve and attached that way

The easiest way to replace it is to:
1. Remove Conrod from the Cylinder.
2. Take the Piston Top off of the Rod (remove torx screw).
3. Remove old Piston Ring.
4. Replace new Piston Ring, with the convex side turned up.
5. Pull the Conrod/Piston Assy with no Ring down from the top of the Cylinder.
If you try to push the rod with new ring up from the bottom of the cylinder, most likely it will damage the piston ring.
