Industrial Air Compressor Oil Leak was created by matt_tx02
I have an Industrial Air 5 HP 80 Gallon IV5048055 compressor and there is a really small slow leak on the rear bearing carrier gasket and oil sight glass. It looks like the gasket is going bad, and I was wondering what the repair procedure is. It looks pretty straight forward, but was wondering if there is more to it than it looks. The bolts are accessible in the front of the pump.

It should be pretty straight forward. You will need to pry off the bearing carrier evenly so as to allow the bearing to slide out. Don't try just prying it off at one end, do so evenly around the circumference.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know what the torque specs are for the 6 bolts? I can't find them anywhere on the internet.
