I went ahead and ordered the old connecting rod, thanks for the help.
One more question, the valve kit I purchased from MTR (part number AB-9429999) was missing the head gasket. How important is this gasket to operation? Who do I need to contact to get the gasket?

You're missing the head gasket in the attached photo, the one with the rib running through the center of it?
This is a pre-packaged kit so it's surprising it was missing. If you need it, however, I'll have a sales associate send one out at no cost...please confirm.
Thanks!

That is correct, I am missing the one with the rib through it. My kit only had the lower gasket, the valve plates, and the valve head, no head gasket. If you could send that out, that'd be great, thanks!
