Ok I have a kobalt quit tech 26gallon that keeps blowing the start cap after it reaches the psi cut off ! Can’t seem to figure out the problem. I replaced the start cap and the pressure switch relay and still the same problem

Also can someone please explain to me what this part on the pressure switch does ? I had to use the one off of my old pressure switch because I don’t have a flair tool for the copper line and was wondering if maybe that’s could be the problem

Are you referring to the tube and silver valve on the side of the pressure switch? If so, this is simply a bleeder tube that drains off air from the supply tube that connects the pump head to the tank. It drains a small amount of air in this line so that the motor is able to start without trouble. If this valve leaks, then the issue is the tank check valve. This can be found on our site for your model number.

Any idea why the start cap keeps blowing when it reaches max psi ?
