New pressure switch-air leak?

New pressure switch-air leak? was created by Danteisme
I just recently purchased a new pressure switch for my old Coleman air compressor. It seems to work great, but while the compressor is filling i can feel air rushing out of this area of the new switch (circled in red). When the tank is full and the compressor shuts off, I no longer hear the air leaving the switch. Now, this compressor hasn’t been operational for quite a few years, so maybe this is how it always was, but I can’t remmeber. Looking for a little assistance. Thanks!

That is a little strange. What is the part number you purchased?

I guess i'll just have to run with this and see what happens, i just realized i'm out of the window for the return policy. I purchased this piece in February, but didnt get around to installing it until just before i posted this thread.

New pressure switches typically never leak.
Keep an eye on it. I feel that something else may be amiss with your air compressor causing the air to back feed to the pressure switch.
Did you install teflon tape on the threads of the pipe nipple before installing the pressure switch to prevent it from leaking?

Sure did. I'll look at removing it, and reapply the teflon tape again.
