I recently ran this compressor but I noticed that the regulator was not working and there were symptoms of a problem with the check valve. (unit would leak air after shutting off and sometimes blow the circuit breaker.) I purchased a new generic regulator and check valve from Master Tool Repair. After I installed these parts the unit does not start when I throw the lever on the Power Switch. The unit is plugged in, there is power to the power bar it is plugged into, other items on the power bar are working. I did not touch the power switch during this repair. The tank is empty. Could the regulator be on backwards? Would that cause the problem? The new regulator came with one gage port already plugged as described elsewhere in this forum. I installed the regulator so the plug is on the same side as where the tank pressure gage was on the old, two gage regulator. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.
