Craftsman Compressor Fan Removal

Craftsman Compressor Fan Removal was created by jsmithyork
I have a Craftsman Compressor model 167240 recently purchased replacement fan and belt. Need to replace original metal fan on motor shaft because the blades came off.
Can anyone help me with how to remove the old fan hub that is still attached to motor shaft. There is a knurled end on the shaft but will not turn out.

Thanks

Joe

Thanks for the post!

Do you mean your model# is "919.167240"?

You can see a breakdown of this unit here:

I'll be honest, I'm not sure how to remove it because I never have, but it may require using bearing pullers to remove it. It probably has some sort of thread sealant on it.

You may want to contact Stanley Black & Decker directly at 800-433-9258 as they took over DeVilbiss, who made these "919" units for Sears Craftsman.
