My Husky model H1504ST fills tanks to a little over 155 lbs pressure and compressor stops (as it is supposed to) but main motor keeps running. I found this out when the original belt burned into and I replaced it with new belt. Any suggestions what might be causing the main motor to keep running when it should stop when the compressor stops pumping at 155 lbs? Thank you.....Jim Mc

Thanks for the post!

I know it's crazy, but your new Belt might be burned up as well.

This is a known problem with this particular motor/pump assembly. My best guess as to why is because the tolerances on the crankshaft and the motor's output Shaft are a little off. If the distance between them is too little or too great, this will obviously affect Belt tension. Also, if they're not aligned properly, the Belt could jump and cause damage.

I would try this again after you drain the tank empty and see if you get the same result.
