Pressure switch settings

Pressure switch settings was created by Ronniereid
I have a Belaire Model 3112DL. It is a Duplex compressor with 2 pressure switches. I had to order 2 new switches because the contacts were badly burned on existing switches. The compressor would cut off at 140 psi and turn on at 130 psi. The new switches on arrival were preset at 145/175 psi. Do both switches need set the same, and should they be set as high as they are. I have not installed them yet.

Thanks for the post Ronniereid,

Yes, the Pressure Switches should be pre-set at 145 PSI cut-on and 175 PSI cut-off, as this is the standard OEM pressure setting for two-stage units like you have.

It depends on how you'd like the unit to operate, you can either set the pressure switches at different pressures so that the two motors alternate on/off, or run in tandem. If you install them stock "as-is", the switches will obviously turn the motors on/off simultaneously and shut off the same.

Feel free to post with any additional questions you may have and I'll do what I can!
