Help identifying model A254 air compressor pump

9 years 1 month ago #1245 by guyf2000
I've encountered an air compressor pump which I am interested in. Because it has a bent crankshaft, I want to identify the manufacturer and check whether I can get a replacement.

Pending my getting pictures of it, it has a tag with model number A254 and a serial number. There is no manufacturer's name visible but the light was poor.

It is a V-configuration, has four cylinders per bank, and at least one of the cylinder pairs is 2-stage. The owner thought it was a Kellogg-American and it has configuration similar to the KA 452.

Does anyone recognize A254 as belonging to any particular manufacturer?

Will try to get pics when I am in the area next week.

Regards,
G

Thanks for the post G,

That model# does not look particularly familiar to me, unfortunately.

Photos would certainly help and I'm fairly positive I could I.D. it with them.

Three pics added. I can get more at different angles.

Seller asking $25 for it and it has new valves. But it was dropped and the crankshaft is bent; visible when you see the pulley.

This is an old "452" model Kellogg pump, which I confirmed.

Parts are still available, you can find a schematic and a parts list on our site by clicking on the below link:

Thanks for the identification. May be worth it for me to fix the pump if parts are available since the valve gear is new.
