Kobalt k7060hfv air compressor mysterious hole.

Hi I bought an air compressor used and it pretty much came with the tank, pump and flywheel. That's it. So there is a lot I need to get for it. It's still in really good shape. And it would be far cheaper to fix this one rather than buying a completely new one that is comparable.

So I have one question. I found pretty much everything I need for it except one piece. There is a bung hole that is on top of the tank, under the motor mount and motor. I have no idea what goes there. I'm assuming it's a check valve but I really don't know. Can anyone help?

Thanks for the post!

You're right, that bunghole is where the Check Valve is located.

You can actually view a parts breakdown of this unit w/ parts list by clicking on the below link; it's not very detailed, it's the best I could find:

The Check Valve inlet is where the Discharge Tube from the Pump head routes to.

If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask.

Well now this is the opposite side of the discharge tube. This port is under the motor mount and motor. Is this port possibly for the air connection?

After researching it you're right, it seems this is an accessory port. It is either meant to be plugged, or have an accessory installed like an air Regulator and/or Particulate Filter or Lubricator to your Hose/tool.

This is the only explanation I see, as the inlet in the center of the tank is for your pressure switch/manifold assy, and the port on the left side is the main inlet for your Transfer Tube, where the Check Valve is installed.

Hope this helps.
