Removing Shroud from Kobalt Air Compressor was created by dlanderson
I have a Kobalt Air Compressor, model 99007, 1.5 HP, 26 gal capacity, 115 VAC. I want to remove the shroud so I can repair either the motor or the pump. I have removed the six star head bolts which hold the top half of the shroud to the lower half, but I can not remove the top shroud for some reason. According to the parts diagram, those are the only bolts. Am I missing something here. HELP!

Thanks for the post!

That's odd, as far as I know those 6 screws are the only fasteners holding the shroud cover on. I would honestly contact Coleman Powermate directly at 888-895-4549. Coleman actually manufactured this unit for Kobalt (which is Lowe's "house brand").
I'm sure a technical rep can assist you further. Once you find out feel free to post the answer here for others!
