I am trying to replace a missing air filter and retainer. I don't see how the replacement I got gets attaches to the muffler. The foam filter is the right size but the retainer looks to small. I have a model 919.165300. How does the foam filter and retainer attach to the muffler???
The foam filter simply sits in the plastic housing, believe it or not. There are no retaining pins that hold it in.
The suction from the valves holds the foam element in place.
