Defective Husky air comp H1504st

Defective Husky air comp H1504st was created by lfc0543
I am at a loss as to which part to replace first. When I start the compressor , it builds up to about 60 psi. The motor continues to run but the piston freezes up. If I do not unplug it or turn off the switch the belt will burn up. Any suggestions.

Thanks for the post Larry.
Most likely what you have is a defective Bearing; one or more of the bearings in the Pump could be freezing up on you and causing this problem.
By the way, you can find a full parts diagram and parts list for the Pump on this unit by clicking on the below link:

Also, make sure there's no obstruction or debris from the inside of the pump head to the tank. Look at your Transfer Tube to confirm it's clear, and that the Check Valve that the Tube goes into (which is threaded in your tank) is clean of debris.
This should be a good start, hope this helps.
