Need torque specs for Craftsman compressor please

10 years 8 months ago #355 by kaliona
getting ready to reassemble my compressor pump on a Craftsman 106.170911 and I'd like to know the correct torque for:
1. cylinder head bolts (5/16-18 x 6" cap screw)
2. Connecting rod bolts
3. crankshaft bearing plate to crankcase bolts
Also the gasket between the crankshaft bearing plate and crankcase is a rather thin paper material. Should I use any type of rtv on this gasket, or on any other of the gaskets for that matter?

Thank you

So far I only found torque specs for the Head Bolts, which would be 160-185 in/lbs.

As for the Bearing Plate Gasket, I wouldn't use RTV for it, I would just purchase Gasket Material around the same thickness at an auto parts store and hand-cut the Gasket, this is recommended over RTV. You could also purchase the Gasket Kit for this pump if all else fails.

I'll try to obtain the rest of the torque specs for you as well.
