Kobalt. 162700 regulator issue

When I turn on this compressor the tank pressure goes all they way to approx 175 lbs then shuts off.
The working pressure guage mirrors the tank pressure guage all the way to 175 even though the regulator knob is turned all the way counter clockwise. I'm guessing a bad regulator?
I see regulator repair kit part #105-0004 is available but not sure how to get to those parts. Is this an easy repair? Does this part seem like what I need to purchase?

Thanks for the post Doug.

Well, I think the Regulator is defective, certainly, as you should be able to regulate the pressure anywhere from 0 PSI to the max PSI (125).
Since this is a small, single stage compressor the MAX pressure you should ever get is 125 PSI. So if it's pressurizing to 175, that's certainly too high and your Pressure Switch is probably defective.

I would start by replacing the Pressure Switch, but it does seem like the Regulator is also defective. I hope this helps, thanks again for the post!
