tripping breaker a few seconds after start up was created by KC
My Quincy QT-10 trips the breaker after a few seconds on start up. I just do not know where to start on troubleshooting. I appreciate any help, thanks.

Could be a bad breaker. Try it on another circuit.

Thanks, its the breaker/reset on my on off switch box that is tripping, from there I have a disconnect with fuses and then to the circuit breaker on my electrical box. I have had this compressor for 3 years/bought it used and have had no problems up to now. By the way, my air tank is empty. When I try to start I get a few revolutions then it trips the breaker.

Could be a start capacitor. They are simple to check with a multimeter.

I have the same issue. I even change the breaker and raised the amp number. Same thing. Then I loosened to feedto the tank which could not build up pressure in the tank and the breaker then never opened, ???????
