22 gallon 5 hp craftsman ? About psi was created by Jencampbell58
I just bought a 22 gallon 5 hp Craftsman compressor. It says that it is 130 psi, but the gauge goes to 200. How many psi does it really have, and if it is actually 130 does it automatically shut off? Thanks,
Jen

It's probably a Single Stage compressor; S.S. stage units put out no more than 150 PSI operating pressure (technically the tank can hold a bit more).
BUT, usually SS units operate at around 125 to 135 PSI max. So I wouldn't be surprised if your compressor had a shut off of 130 PSI; this is the normal factory pre-set.
If you have a model# on the unit (which probably starts with a "919") then I can be more accurate, of course.
