After 10 years of use, our compressor pump wore out. I ordered a replacement sleeve and piston. After installing the new parts, the pump won't crank at full speed. Do i have something too tight? I also replaced the bearings. It would seem the most resistance is had at top dead center.

I resolved the issue with resistance at TDC. Two bolt heads conflicted for some reason, so I removed the lock washer on the head bolt and that helped. That didn't however take care of the whole issue. The motor is still taxed, and trips the reset within ten seconds of startup. I'll keep tinkering with it, I just hoped I was missing a very obvious detail.

Is the roller bearing that the rod fits on spinning freely?
Was it all working prior to installing the new kit?
