pulley removal was created by jrj2
The most stubborn pulley I have ever met in many years gone by ! I am trying to remove the pulley from a Craftsman 6 Hp electric motor so as to retrofit a replacement pump (obsolete pump). I very rarely use heat to get things apart, but I even resorted to that for this stubborn pulley. I did get a new three jaw puller out of the deal because I broke the old one on this challenge. Does anyone out there have cool tricks up their sleeve that I don't know about ?

I use the old candle wax method.
Turn the pulley so that the end is facing you. (end of shaft).
Light a candle.
Let the wax drip around the shaft of the motor and the ID of the pulley.
Works like a charm!
