Craftsman 919.155730 pressure switch issue

5 years 7 months ago #3026 by StanLee
I ordered the listed pressure switch for my air compressor (Craftsman model 919.155730) and when it came, it has a female connector. The issue is: so does the compressor.

After researching a bit, it looks like instead of the CAC-4221-1 switch, I need the Z-CAC-4221-3 switch. Did Craftsman change this part at some point without updating the parts list?

Please advise.

Add a 1/4" female NPT close pipe coupler as shown below.

Since both the switch and compressor have female connectors, I would need to add a 1/4" male NPT close pipe coupler, yes?

The other difference is the Z-CAC-4221-3 switch has the same cuton/off pressure ratings as the switch on the compressor, while the CAC-4221-1 has different ratings.

Can I just exchange the CAC-4221-1 you sent with a Z-CAC-4221-3?

Per the mfgr. the Z-CAC-4221-3 is no longer available. When it was, the cost was over $100.
The replacement for the Z-CAC-4221-3 is show on this page below.
If you would like to replace it for this one, you can:

It does have female threads.
