Replacing the Regulator on a California Air Tools 8010Ultra Quiet Air Compressor was created by FredFlintstone
They don't sell replacement parts, but they do send customers over here to Master Tool Repair. I ordered a regulator, the 90506-R, which Master Tool Repair indicates is the correct part for my model. It doesn't have a picture. The 90506-S does, and it looks exactly like the part I received. So I may have received the wrong part, hard to tell because there is nothing written on the part itself. But that wasn't my initial problem actually, I just noticed that now. My original issue was that when I went to turn the red knob for the first time on the regulator I received, it just popped right off. Upon inspection, I'm pretty sure it wasn't supposed to do that. So, even if I do have the right part, I think it is/was defective. Any help/advice would be appreciated.
Sorry, my pictures won't load for some reason.

You are correct, the knob is not supposed to pop off.
The 90506-S has the air flow direction to the right. (if the gauge port is facing you and the red knob is facing up)
The 90506-R has the air flow direction to the left. (if the gauge port is facing you and the red knob is facing up)
Other than that, they both look exactly the same.
