Belaire air intake noise was created by Speedaire1
I apologize if this has been covered before but I am a 1st timer to this forum.
I have a 2014 2 stage Belaire 216V 5hp 30gal? nice compressor but since it was new it has a pulse type noise from intake which is annoying when running. I can quiet it down by blocking the intake hole in the filter housing,.it has a 1/2 "npt screw on filter which looks like a round Sanborn
My questions are : Do the advertised intake silencers work ?
Can I re pipe it and split the intake so it has 2 filter housings to lower noise and will it affect the intake?
I have the opportunity to pipe the intake into unheated garage but that can get to 0 F. in the winter and higher humidity in the summer, what effect will it have on compressor performance?

I have installed a inline intake muffler and added sound deadening sheets to the back side of the tank and cut up some deadening sheets to fit under the compressor housing support frame and zip tied the 2 piece belt cage to eliminate vibration.
It cut down on noise by around 1.5 decibels as measured with a low cost meter.

Thanks for the info.
This is a pretty good idea, actually, and pretty inexpensive. Sometimes jerry rigging something together is a good option:
