Help Indentify my compressor pump. was created by N_Jay
I picked up an old compressor and I am trying to identify the pump.
It has been painted so I can not find any model information.
Both the tank and the pump are marked 1986 or 1989
It is a 60 gallon, 2 stage 5HP 220 V unit.
The motor may not be original. It is a Dayton motor; 6K794AE.
The tank is a BRUNNER Eng&Mfg. from Indiana, and is 200 PSI rated.
It may have been a MATCO branded compressor bas

ed on the gauge that is on it.

Thanks for the post N_Jay,

It looks like an old Chinook brand pump to my eyes. It's certainly an OLD Chinook if it is because it looks decidedly different than their modern pumps.

Are there any casting numbers at all on the crankcase, or anywhere else on the pump? This will certainly help. Ideally a number starting with a "K", e.g. "K24".

I was pointed to Rol-Air by another forum.
It seems that Chinook and Rol-Air are two brands of the same company.
He said it looked just like and older Rol-Air he had.
I matched up the mounting points and confirmed it is a K24 or K25 pump.

I sent then a note with a written description (no pictures) to Rol-Air and they said it is a previous generation K24 or K25. They sent me the current information and said that all eth current generation parts are usable on that generation pump.

They even make the new heads with threaded ports so they fit both the current flange fittings and the pervious threaded fittings. (What great thinking!)

If the tank checks out I should get it tested out this weekend.

Well there you go! :cheer:

I knew immediately it was a Chinook and Rol-Air uses them exclusively. The Chinook pumps are manufactured in Italy, for use by Rol-Air (in Wisconsin). If you need any more information at all, I have a rep with Rol-Air who can obtain more information.

But, it certainly does appear to be an old K24, K25 or K30 pump.

It is a K24 or K25 as the K30 has a different footprint.

Can you get a manual and diagram for a 1986 dated K24/35 pump?
